It IS April, 3rd, RIGHT!?

Today's forecast: 55 degrees and rainy.
ACTUAL forecast: 32ish degrees and snow chunks are literally falling from the sky
I guess it was a mistake to wear capris and sandals today. But isn't it beautiful?!

Weekend in Denver

This was the only picture we took last weekend in Denver! It was a beautiful sunset and I tried to capture it out the car window while Matt was driving. We had such a good time and came home with some awesome deals! We arrived in Denver just after the city got dumped on with 13 inches of snow (you can hardly tell because it melted so quickly!) and left just in time to get back to Rifle before the snow started at home. How fast the weather changes...

Have you ever...

Used your stove for boiling badger traps? I HAVE! Matt is doing a badger project at work and purchased some new badger traps. In order to lure the badgers to the traps, they can't really be shiny and new, so Matt left them outside for a week to get rusty. After they rusted a bit, he had to boil them in dye to prevent any future rusting. What a process! He's so excited about the project!!!

Grizzly Creek

The first weekend of spring break we went hiking up Grizzly Creek. I wasn't feeling all that great, but went anyway. Matt spent some time fishing while I literally napped on a rock. It worked out well for the both of us! We hiked maybe a mile up the trail, so not that far. It was a beautiful day and we hated to waste it sitting inside! Matt caught a few but didn't keep any.

The Lost Mitten

A few weeks ago, I had my first performance - a kindergarten musical called "The Lost Mitten." It's a story about a boy who loses a mitten in the forest and a bunch of forest animals make their home in it, until it eventually rips apart. I made the giant red mitten out of paper! Here are a few shots of the evening. Can you find the teacher whispering lines to kids in the picture below?! Classic! Every kid had a speaking part and they actually did a really good job remembering their lines. I definitely had the cute factor working in my favor!

Sponge Bob Square Pants

Since we're in the market to buy a house, Matt and I looked at 6 houses last night. Normally, when we look at houses, the owners aren't there. Well, one of the houses we looked last night had people in it. After looking at the main floor, we both headed upstairs to check out the bedrooms, and upon walking into the master bedroom, guess who we saw? One of my students in his sponge-bob square pants pajamas. I'm not sure who was more shocked - me or my student! What are the chances?!

SO CLOSE!!

Today, I am wearing a new dress and new tights - stylish, huh? The dress is like a sweater, so it's very comfy. And the tights have shades of blue and green stripes in them. And the best part is that the whole ensemble cost me less than $15. Beat that, bargain shoppers! :)

Of course, there's a story that goes along with it, since that's just how my life is. Well, when I was trying on the dress, I pushed my stomach out as far as it could go to see what the dress would look like if I were pregnant - notice I said "were." And just to clarify, I am not pregnant. Once again: I am not pregnant. I know it's kinda embarrassing to admit that I did this, but I think the story is better with that little fact included.

Because of the style of the dress, it actually will work for a while after Matt and I DO decide to start having a family, and God willing I become pregnant. Sweet, huh? It will pull double duty, at least for a while. But I don't want people thinking I'm pregnant right now. I know that my stomach isn't quite as flat as it could be, but I didn't think people would be so forward and ask me if I am pregnant. And they didn't. Until 15 minutes before school got out. As my last 3rd grade class was leaving for the day, one student couldn't resist and said to me, "It looks like you're having a baby." So close! I was so close to making it to the end of the day! SO CLOSE!!!!

Note: I used Photo Booth on my MacBook to take the picture. Stylish AND resourceful! :)
