Proud Mommy Moment

Is it:
a.) when Charlie poked his finger in my belly button and his finger went in past his second knuckle
b.) walking out of the bathroom (naked, mind you) to find Charlie chewing on a razor
c.) when said 2-year-old weasled his way between Alanna and the bathtub, stepping on her fingers on his way and making her cry (the really, really sad cry)
d.) when Charlie had his first (and second) vomiting experience while he was sitting in his booster chair at the table with his bib still on, thus catching a majority of the vomit
e.) all of the above

Yep, it's e. A was a bit humiliating. Lucky for B, the plastic cap was still on - as if that's any consolation?!?! C made me both insta-mad and insta-sad at the same time. Alanna's sad cry is pitifully sad! And I don't know what else to say about D, other than I hate, hate, hate vomit, so thank you Lord that he was where he was for both experiences (just last Friday and Saturday!). I surprised myself by remaining calm and just cleaning it up like it was no big deal. So I guess the real proud mommy moment was D. Thanks for playing!

Goodbye, Gummy Grins...

Hello, first baby tooth!! Miss Alanna got her first tooth yesterday (April 20)!! She got the bottom left one. It's a whole different experience when she chews on fingers and hands - ours or hers!

Charlie's Words :)

At 25 months, here's a list of Charlie's words:
daddy
car
dog
amen (a-BEE)
go
milk (bilK - with a serious k sound at the end!)
whale
fish
fire
tractor
baby
circle
all gone (all go-go, while doing the sign)
cracker
cookie (sounds like coo-coo)
good girl (what he calls Alanna:)
bye-bye (buh-buh)
peacock
uh-oh (oh-oh)
boat

Charlie knows circle, square, rectangle, oval, octagon, diamond, pentagon, star, and crescent (I call it moon!). Charlie can also jump and get both feet off the ground! I guess he learned that a while (month?) ago but we only found out about it one evening when Matt taught Charlie how to take all the throw pillows off the couch, make a big pile, and jump over and on them. (Thanks, Matt.) Charlie knows all of his facial body parts along with arms, legs, toes, belly button and back. He sits on the potty every night before his bath, but hasn't produced anything yet. We're not attempting to teach him, but he showed interest in sitting on the potty, so we're happy to oblige. I'm hoping he's potty-trained by the end of this calendar year, which I think is a pretty realistic goal. I'm still patiently waiting for that last 2-year molar which should be arriving soon. A few weekends ago, we had a bonfire, and Charlie was scared of it! Last weekend we had another one and he warmed up quicker than the last time. Maybe the roasted marshmallow had something to do with it... :) Now that camping season is almost here, I'm sure Charlie will be loving the bonfires in no time at all!

I'm sure there are other new things, but they've left my mind at the moment. I'll add more as I think of them!

Summer Jammies

LOVE these summer jammies!

Sickie McGee

3-21: Even though Charlie's sick, he's still up for a picture with his baby sister!Napping on the couch when you have a cold is a beautiful thing.
"I may be sick, but not too sick to play with my new microphone!!"
