A few more of June

6/16 - JAMMIES!

Still adorable, even when crying. :)

Happy Father's Day, Daddy!! 6/17

Oh, those eyes!

Camping in Fairplay (6/15-6/16)

We took a camping trip a few weeks ago and had a very interesting time. We camped in the national forest outside of Fairplay, CO, a quick 75ish minutes from home. The weather was nice and cool (as you can see from our clothing) and we had some fun moments. What we didn't expect was Charlie's poor behavior while we were out. He turned into a deviant little bugger, sucking almost all the fun out of the trip. He even had two time-outs on an old tree stump in the woods. :( Combine that with a terrible night's sleep (Charlie and Matt slept in the back of the van; Charlie woke up almost every hour, crying like crazy, and Matt was curled up in a ball with no where to go. Alanna and I slept ok in the tent.) and we called it a trip early and headed for home. UGH. It was not our best camping trip ever.

See that glint in his eye? Trouble, I tell ya. Trouble.

Carrots, Little Peanut, and a Tortoise Ice Pack

Enjoying some carrots. No, really. She is. 6-14-12

See? Love her bib - little peanut!

Charlie got this fun ice pack in his Easter basket from Grandma. Sad that it's come in handy, but at least it gets Charlie's attention off the owie and onto the fun and cold tortoise! 6-14-12

Big Bro, Baby Sis

Wiped out!! 6-12-12

Big brother and baby sister. Baby sister's eyes are half closed, but I still think it's cute how she has her hand on Charlie's leg. 6-13-12

Pueblo Zoo

On a day when the weather was relatively cool (under 80), I decided to load up the kids and go to the Pueblo Zoo. We had so much fun! The zoo was bigger than I thought it would be, and there was way more shade than I anticipated - both pleasant surprises!! Strangely enough, we ran into Karen and her kids at the zoo on the same day, so we walked around together for a while. It was such a lovely day for an adventure.
Our picnic in Pueblo City Park after the zoo. It was a beautiful day to sit in the shade and eat our sandwiches! I distinctly remember thinking about how pretty the trees and grass were at the park; cool, refreshing shade, and long blades of grass that tickle your toes as you walk.
Hitchin' a ride, piggy-back style! Or should I say, turtle-back...? Lame joke.

Mother duck and her ducklings.

I lost the kids' attention to a guy using a jackhammer. The flowers were pretty so I took the picture anyway!

Checking out the otters, but they must have been taking a break inside because we didn't actually see them.

Summer Cuties

6-6-12

Our two sweeties.

6-8-12 Naked baby! If I had to guess, I'd say that she tips the scales at about 15lbs (at 7 months).

6-9-12 I came in after Alanna's nap and found her on her belly. Ever since then, she moves around the crib like crazy. I put her down for a nap, go in 5 minutes later to cover her up and find her perpendicular or facing the opposite direction of how I put her down. Charlie didn't do this until at least 10 months. He rolled and scooted before then, but not in his crib. He was a pretty still sleeper. Alanna, not so much!

Perfect Family Day :)

Too funny!
Picnic at the top of Hoosier pass, 11,542 feet. Charlie's PB&J tasted the same as it does at 5,345 feet - delicious!

Not to be left out of the picnic, Alanna had some mixed fruit.

Hiking on Hoosier pass. We hiked up a road while the kids looked around and then fell asleep. We probably hiked 3 miles, which seems like a lame-o amount, but with two children, ANY hiking we do is a big deal!!

Charlie's loving his sweet ride. He actually hasn't been in the backpack since last summer - can you believe that? It was definitely time!

So pretty.

Our destination - to see down the backside of the mountain. Charlie actually slept for about an hour in the backpack. Contrary to what the picture shows, Charlie was not complaining of a sore neck later in the day.
