6 Months Already!!

8-3
How is this little lady 6 months old already?! Molly is so sweet, squishy, and smiley!

While the Boys are Away...

8-2
...the girls will play!! The girls and I had some extra time together while Matt and Charlie were out hiking. It was nice; not that the boys were gone, but that Alanna and I got to talk more than usual. Charlie is quite the talker, and Alanna talks too, but when she doesn't have anyone to compete with, she was a talking machine!

Alanna helped me clean out my scrapbooking stickers while Molly was napping. I found a ton of great stickers for the kids! She, of course, wanted to get busy playing stickers right away - and she had the whole pile of stickers to herself!

This sweet little girl grabbed a few snuggles with Daddy before bedtime.

End of July

7-30
25 week picture! I took this one two days late... which isn't much, but when it's a weekly picture, it IS! I still just love those baby tip-overs!

It rained a bit so the kids threw on their rainboots and stomped around for a while. I think they will have plenty of opportunities to wear their rainboots in Oregon!

Tuxedo shirt - keepin' it classy!

So cute! Even with a chunk of hair in her face.

Eating some cereal in the Bummo (as Alanna calls it).

Fremont County Fair

7-29
Matt entered a loaf of whole wheat bread and a crocheted hat in the open class at the Fremont County fair. He has never done anything like this before! I think with his first place ribbon for the bread and second place ribbon for the hat, he might look into doing something like this again. Good job, Matt!

Last CMZ Trip

7-28
Since our zoo pass was about to expire, I thought the kids and I should spend one more full day at the zoo. We hadn't been there all summer (the school year is my favorite time to go!) so we packed lunch and made a full day of it. Actually that's not true. I faintly recall taking the kids to the zoo for a quick visit (under an hour) and getting caught in torrential rains and lightning that was too close for comfort... Anyway, this trip was much different! As you can see, it was a beautiful day at the zoo! Molly did well, sleeping in the Ergo and hanging out in the stroller. Charlie and Alanna had a blast running from animal to animal, looking at them with fresh eyes. I had a picture of Charlie and Alanna on the train ride that served as my wallpaper on my phone for a really long time. Comparing the two photos, the kids have really grown and changed since then!

"Kids, come over here for a picture!" This will go in our outtake file. Yes, Charlie is pulling Alanna's hair.

Camping in Fairplay

7-25 to 7-27
We pulled the camper to Fairplay for a weekend in the mountains. We had a fun time, despite some rainy weather. It sprinkled every day; Saturday it rained hard enough to chase us to Pizza Hut for supper since our planned meal involved a fire. It happened to be Burro Days in Fairplay so we walked around the craft fair and downtown area for a bit on Saturday morning and again on Sunday. There was a short 30-minute parade on Sunday morning involving a surprising amount of candy for the size of the parade. We also got to watch the llama runners take off - as in the runners literally had to pull a llama on a lead rope for a whole 5k. There was a burro run on Saturday in which, you guess it, the runners pulled a burro for the duration of the race - and it was something like 22 miles!! It wasn't quite marathon length, but it was close. They called it "Haulin' Ass," quite fittingly. Regardless, it was awesome to see!

These two and their fire sticks...

Our really great spot! Too bad the mosquitos agreed and had set up camp with us for the weekend.

Pretty Colorado columbine!

We ended up in Breckenridge on Saturday afternoon. Yes, we were there the weekend prior, but Fairplay is only 20 minutes over Hoosier Pass, so we went back to hang out in town for a bit. So picturesque!

There was a beaver pond just across the road from our campsite, so Matt helped the kids fish a bit one evening. A beaver was out swimming while we were there! The kids were thrilled!

This tiny girl has given herself a reputation for being a fabulous sleeper in the camper!

While we were waiting for the parade to start, I grabbed some coffee and a cookie for the kids to share, which explains the giant bulge in Charlie's cheek. :)

Matt's Hike

7-20-14
This was a hike I did in the Sangres to simply get out, do some fishing and put on some miles. It was the Comanche to Venable Lake loop that traversed over the Phantom Terrace. The weather was great and the scenery beautiful. I used a fly and bubble for fishing and had a hoot watching trout hit the surface lure. A fun day.
