Matt's Day Spa & 1 Week Pics!!

Can't believe our little Charlie is 1 week old already!!!

Matt's washing Charlie's hair after his second bath at home. He did such a good job! Charlie really liked it and didn't make a sound the entire time. He screamed during the bath part, though, which is probably our fault. I think the water wasn't quite warm enough. Lesson learned for next time!!

The Rustand Three. Love it!

My Man and My Boy

As previously stated, Matt's been doing an incredible job taking care of Charlie and me. We're so lucky to have him! Matt's been on top of laundry, cooking, running errands, picking up things lower than knee level (since I don't really bend easily these days...), and a variety of other tasks. He's been super helpful! I'm not sure who requires more care at this point - me or Charlie! Anyway, Matt made burgers on the grill for lunch today. Doesn't this just look so yummy?? It was. Believe me!
Our sweetie in an outfit that he got from his friends Avey and Peanut. Thanks, girls!
Matt has become a stellar swaddler! I'm not lying when I say that anything Matt tries to do, he does well at from the very beginning. Even this! He's teaching me how to do it, too.

Naked baby! This was right after our dr. appt this morning. Such sweet, soft skin!

Again - what's with the rotating pics on blogspot?

Thought we'd end with a pretty funny video! Enjoy!

Pics, pics, pics!

Matt and Charlie are looking pretty comfy on the bed together! Matt's such an incredible dad. I already knew he was an amazing husband, but he's such a great daddy, too!

Getting our son dressed to go home...

Doesn't Charlie look so long in this picture? He's so skinny!

Charlie's modeling his going home outfit!

Rustand family picture in the family room at the hospital. :)

Our self-portraits still work - we can get all three of us in the picture!

Coming home from the hospital! Charlie didn't like the carseat at first, but calmed down once the car was moving. I think that's pretty typical! We came home on Tuesday afternoon. I was discharged on Monday, but Charlie had to stay another day at the hospital since he had lost so much weight. We all stayed at the hospital (motel status!) and came home together on Tuesday. Our 8-pound, 2.9-ounce baby dropped to 7 pounds 6 oz., but it probably now back up a few more ounces.

As crazy uncomfy as this looks, he seemed to be ok.

First bath! We decided to go ahead with the bath on his first night home since he had three blow-outs on his first day home. Yuckie. We needed to clean up his sweet little cheeks!

Matt took the plunge and got right in with Charlie. Since it was super difficult for me to bend over and get down on the floor (though I did it!), Matt got in there and helped hold and bathe our little guy. What a trooper!

Charlie tried out his new swing this morning - even though his parents forgot to buy batteries for it. Oops! We pushed it like you would push a swing at the park and it worked just fine! He seemed to really like it. Who wouldn't? The constant motion is so calming.

Baby Charlie

A short video of baby Charlie. He's not doing much, but it's cute anyway.
