Second Half of July

Second Half of July
7/16
Debbie and I went for a hike in Colorado Springs one day in July. We were out for a few hours and it was nice to hike with friends! Debbie and I got to chat while the kids chased each other down the trail.

We swam at Jen's pool with Larissa and Theia one afternoon. It turned out to be an overcast afternoon but the kids persevered and swam for a few hours.

We were invited to Justin and Janel Ensinger's home for a barbeque one Saturday night. They live up in Dawson Ranch and have a home on a half acre or so. It's a big enough that Justin built a little mountain biking track around the lot. Charlie had a great time riding Ian's bike around the track! Molly even took a turn on Sam's bike. Jacob and Larissa came as well, so it was a little small group dinner party.

I planned to tackled a fourteener one Sunday in July and had the date carved out of our schedule for a while. At the last minute, I texted Debbie to see if she wanted to hike with me and she jumped on board! We hiked several hours but didn't summit Mt Yale. Even after leaving Canon at 5:45am, it got a stormy earlier than we anticipated so we had to turn around. We talked during the entire car ride there and back as well as every step along the trail. It was a great summer adventure with a friend!

Molly lost her front tooth! It's always amazing to see how a smile changes so much with one lost tooth.

Ice cream date at Blue Mountain Creamery in Colorado Springs.
One of the things on our summer bucket list was to cook food over a fire. Since we hadn't been out camping yet, we decided to just roast hotdogs (and ourselves - it was hot!) over the fire pit on the deck. We got to cross off 'eating outside' as well. Yum!

A rare moment where everyone was playing Play-Doh!
The other garage door has been opened! (7/30)
