September 4-12
Matt and the kids drove to Minnesota on Friday the 4th, They spent Labor day weekend mostly at Zenner beach with the whole Thorson clan. We hadn't attended a Labor day campout in years and years, so I think it was nice for Matt to see some of his extended family and catch up a bit. Some we see almost every time we're in MN, but others we don't see as often. It sounds like our kids had a great time with the next generation of Thorsons; Alanna was playing with Brooklyn and Alyssa quite a bit (Tracy's girls). Goulds ended up all driving to MN as well so there were plenty of cousins to pal around with! We all got to meet our newest niece, Gianna Renee, as well. She is a precious little thing! I wasn't there so I don't know how it all went down! It sounded like they had a good time enjoying the last MN summer days at the lake.
I flew in on Thursday, had lunch with my sisters for a few hours, and then Matt came to Fargo to pick me up. Friday the 11th was Justin and Whitney's wedding - an outdoor wedding on Otter Tail lake. It was a beautiful wedding!!! It was very much a fancy wedding that you would see on Pinterest; beautiful centerpieces, pretty signs for seating arrangements and such, the whole works. It was probably the fanciest wedding I've ever been to! The weather was a bit rainy and chilly, but there were lots of tents set up with big propane heaters so it wasn't bad. We stayed for the first hour of the wedding dance, and Hattie was just mesmerized with the band. Chad Hulter was playing drums and we had never heard his band play before! Hattie danced and danced - actually, all of the girls did. At one point, the lead guitarist gave Hattie a guitar pick and she was over the moon about it. Chad passed Molly a drum stick and she treasured that thing like some kind of teenage groupie. We danced for an hour or so before calling it quits for the night. It was an amazing celebration of Justin and Whitney!
