Oregonians

1-17
Though we were on the downhill slide of our daylight hours, we wanted to walk the beach a bit even with the high surf. We thought we found a spot with a little trail granting access to the beach, but the trail was flooded and lead us to a little lake instead. We hopped in the car and found a different access point but the surf was so high (plus it was high tide) that there wasn't much beach to walk. We enjoyed the coast from up on the bluff. It had started to rain just before we got to the beach, but we still stayed out in the weather to see the water in true Oregonian style.  Fourth picture down, the close up of Hattie, shows the rain peppered all over her sweet little cheeks. It was surprisingly calm and warm for the hour that we were out. The ocean is so mesmerizing. I could watch the water for hours and hours, days and days, and it would never get old.

After we got sufficiently wet, we picked up a pizza for dinner and finished the evening with another round in the pool. I took the next picture to document the post-swimming treat: caramel puff corn in pajamas and watching tv in the hotel. Reminds me of my sisters and I eating a traditional Legge hotel treat - Cracker Jacks! - with wet heads after a good swim when we were kids.
