Baking, Bowling, and Butt Cheeks

12-27
Alanna helped Grandma make a salad one morning. Grandma is always ready and willing to have a helper! Alanna's favorite part, of course, is licking the spoon. The salad was for the Thorson Christmas in Dalton, which we did not attend this year. Swensons and Edwards' were still around so we had some more fun cousin time at Mom and Dad's. In the afternoon, the parents and oldest two kids in each family went bowling while Grandma and Grandpa stayed home with three baby girls who not only were taking naps, but also would have been a disaster at the bowling alley. We had a great time bowling! Charlie and Alanna loved it! They each used the ramp a few times, Alanna more often than Charlie. They were both interested and excited to see how many pins they could knock over. We bowled as much as we could in our 60-minute time frame, which amounted to be just under one game. The kids got in a few extra frames here and there, too. It happened to be rock and bowl at the bowling alley when we arrived so the lights were mostly off, the disco ball was on, and the music was loud. Alanna was pretty intimidated; when I walked with her to go and find a ball, she was trailing behind me on the way back to our lane. She looked away for a second and then couldn't find me so she started crying. It was pretty busy in there as well, which didn't help matters. Once we settled into our lanes and our own little area, she was totally fine. Thankfully, rock and bowl ended within the first 15 minutes of our time there. It was a really fun afternoon! It would have been much harder and less enjoyable with a baby - no offense, Molly Girl. I have thought for a while that the Charlie and Alanna are old enough to go bowling and that it's something we should try with them, but it just hasn't been high on our to-do list with the kids. It was a great activity to do with a bigger group! Well done, kiddos! Great job on your first time bowling!
Not to be left out completely, we had a funny little photo shoot with the three baby girls that evening at bath time. Let's just say that Molly, Leah, and Maylen have some pretty cute butt cheeks! I saw a picture posted of their three little buns in a row on Jill's blog so it must be ok for me to post here. For now, I'll end this with a candid of Molly.
