We are proud to announce the newest member of our garage family - a 2015 Ford Explorer! It had 16 miles on it when we test drove it a week prior and we put on about 60 during the test drive, so it had a whopping 77 miles on it when we bought it. It is very, very nice! We definitely went back and forth weighing out all the options (fixing the Escape, selling it ourselves, trading it in for a used car, buying something new, etc), but ultimately decided to buy a brand new car. It has tons of bells and whistles, a towing package, seats seven, back-up camera, black leather interior, glittery green exterior that looks black unless you really inspect it, on and on and on. It is super fancy and we are super happy with the decision. We have some pretty big plans with the camper while we're in Oregon so we need something that can help us do what we want to do. I guess we rationalized it by equating the new car purchase to other people's 4-wheelers, snowmobiles, or horses. Not only is it practical, but it will get us out camping, something that we love to do as a family.

So many new buttons to learn... and the My Ford Touch thing... maybe there's an evening class at the Ford dealer we should register for. ;)
Side note: Charlie and Alanna have been loving their safety gear lately. Usually they split up the set; one person gets gloves and a set of knee pads while the other gets the elbow pads. On the day that Charlie cashed in a gift card, Alanna got some gear of her own so they don't have to share anymore. She was pretty excited! The kids normally wear helmets as well.
