1-2
We left Fargo on the 1st and made it to Billings that night. The great thing about driving west was that we gained an hour on our first and second day's drive! Day two of travel was from Billings to Spokane. This was the day that Matt caught the head cold and body aches that was being passed around over Christmas. I'm not surprised that we (namely Matt and Alanna) got sick on the way home. That's what happens! Matt had a fever on the second day's drive but put up with it like a champ. I thought for a bit that he might be getting a little stomach bug to go along with it, but he pulled through and escaped the barfs. It was a good trip home without anything huge to report. We did hit a bit of yucky weather from east of Missoula until Spokane at one point going only 15mph down the interstate behind a plow team. 200 miles out of 3400 is a pretty low percentage all things considered. The van did really well, the kids traveled like little champs, and we made it back to Roseburg relatively unscathed, though a day or two after we got home, Charlie and I came down with the same cold and body aches situation. Matt literally went back to work on the 5th only to be called home by me a few hours later. Nothing like being gone for 18 days, working 2 hours, and then going home to take care of us!!
