Happy Mother's day to ME! I love these four so much.
The ducks really had a pretty sweet set up in our yard, complete with a little "pond" and everything. One of the last nights before Matt butchered them, they were out a little late in the evening and one was picked off by a fox all because I was too lazy to bring the ducks inside in a timely fashion. :( Such a bummer!!
Hattie apparently needed a short little nap one day. I haven't taken pictures of sleeping babies in a while because our babies aren't really babies anymore. When Hattie takes a nap now, I document it!
Charlie has been on a shooting kick lately and loves to take aim at collared doves with the BB gun. He hits them but they don't usually die. The black clump in the picture is Charlie's first kill. He was so proud!!
One of our neighbors has such a beautiful yard. These spring flowers are always a welcome sight.
Buzz on the balance bike!
Alanna's class took a field trip to the Children's Museum in Pueblo at the end of May. After the museum, they went mini-golfing. I didn't go with on the field trip, but a friend sent me this picture of Alanna really winding up. (How did no one get hurt during the golfing?!)
Charlie's class took a field trip to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. I also did not go with on the field trip, but mothers unite! A friend sent me some pictures. We do love Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and have spent a decent amount of time there over the years. We haven't had a zoo pass for a few years now, but maybe it's time to do that again! Hattie would really enjoy it, and she might remember it now that she's older.
Zach, Charlie, Grayson, and Bryce - a third grade dream team.
Four monkeys hanging on an elephant!
This is Charlie's third grade teacher Miss Milam. She is a fabulous teacher, and Charlie has had such a great year with her!
First grade awards at the end of the school year! Alanna received several academic and character awards. She had such a great year with Mr. D and Mrs. Perkins. Mr. D is the first teacher to have two of our kids so that was new experience.
Molly, Hattie, and I had lunch with Charlie and Alanna at school on the third to last day of school. One more time of eating with our first and third graders before they turn into second and fourth graders!
Charlie received an award during a school assembly. He is at the far right half hidden behind a classmate.
Molly, Ali Miller (she is right between Molly and Hattie in age), and Hattie reading some books in the school library probably while us mothers were helping with something.
Alanna received a big handwriting award!! She was a state level winner of the Zaner-Bloser handwriting contest. She received a medal and Mr. D received a huge diamond-looking trophy for the classroom.
Field day!

Alanna, Alex, and Elliyah are enjoying some sunshine during field day. Field day consists of a few hours of activities along with a picnic lunch in the park. The lunch is open to families so I brought Hattie and Molly and we ate with Charlie and Alanna.
It was a bit of a chilly day, but the sunshine was warm on our faces.
Charlie and Bentley
Ali, Molly, and Hattie got to jump a bit in the bouncy house after all the big kids had cycled through.
On the last day of school, we attended a third grade awards ceremony. Miss Milam put together awards and a slide show for the kids.
Charlie is in the back row, third from the right.
After a great school year, these two are on to bigger and better (and harder!) things! Fourth and second grade, here we come!
